“Playing a flute is like writing a book. You’re telling what’s in your heart…It’s easier to play if it’s right from your heart. You get the tone, and the fingers will follow.”

consequences for bad horn angles, attitude/respect, and moving at attention

We got our pictures taken during a parade, and someone in our section (flutes/ picc)  has a BAD horn angle. It legitimately looks like they’re playing a clarinet, it’s that bad!! My friend and I have started thinking of punishments for bad horn angles, bad attitude/respect, and moving at attention. We were trying to think of punishments that are simple, but hard. Something that we (hopefully) can do anywhere. Cause we’re always changing between the field and band room. Have any suggestions?! :)

Flutes!

Flutes!

Cause yeah.

Dancing to drum cadences at football games according to my school.

Brass Players: They have a dance for every cadence, and it must be done in a robotic fashion. Horn swings included.

Woodwinds & Color Guard: Anything goes…

Native American bamboo Earth Flute.

The picture might be a bit big, sorry. Anyway, I went to the Minnesota renaissance festival earlier today, and I bought this beautiful flute. It is a Native American Earth Flute. It’s hand crafted, and made out of bamboo. It’s very different from the regular soprano, alto, and bass band boo flutes because it has 5 tone holes, compared to the regular 6. It is also a flute that doesn’t require sheet music to play. It being a Native American flute, it was designed for you to “play what you feel”. I think it is one of the most beautiful sounding flute I’ve ever heard. It just sounds so majestic. I think it even sounds better than the regular silver flute. Just my little story. Thanks :)
